Jazz and Hip Hop Combo Camp
Dancers will partake in jazz and hip hop warm up and technique. Dancers will also learn various combinations throughout the week to new, upbeat songs of the summer!
Strength and Conditioning for Dancers
Dancers will learn various exercises to strengthen muscles and condition muscles to improve dance technique, flexibility, and stamina. Dancers will also learn ways to do these exercises and home and how to apply them to their dance training through the year! Dancers are recommended to bring their own yoga mat, exercise band, and exercise ball if available.
Improvisation and Choreography Workshop
Imagine. Move. Create. Dancers will have the opportunity to participate in dance improvisation exercises and games exploring new shapes, levels, and dynamic movement styles. Dancers will also learn how to use improvisation and other tools to conceptualize and create their own piece of modern choreography.
Ballet and Pointe Variations Intensive
Ages 11+ (plus at least 5 years of ballet)
Dancers will take an Intermediate/Advanced Ballet or Pointe technique class and learn variations from famous ballets such as Swan Lake, Cinderella, Giselle, Coppelia, and Sleeping Beauty. Dancers will also be taught a dance history lesson in the background of the particular variation, the ballet, and the choreographer behind the masterpiece. Dancers are not required to be on Pointe. Dancers may attend one or both sessions as they will consist of different variations.
